Day by day itinerary

1. 1Santa Marta - Hostal Altos de la Sierra⌄

   Your adventure starts with a 4x4 pickup right from your hotel. The tour takes you through Minca, the ecological capital, where the aroma of coffee plants will envelop you. You will ascend a rugged road but with breathtaking views of the city of Santa Marta and the lagoon complex of Ciénaga, until you reach the Hostal de Moncho at 2,800 meters above sea level. After a delicious coffee and a light breakfast, you will go on a trek of about 5 hours. You will enjoy a 360° view over the stunning Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, while on the side you will see the city of Santa Marta and Tayrona Park. Keep your eyes open to spot birds unique to this region. You will reach the highest point, Cerro Kennedy, at 3,060 meters high, from where you will begin a descent to the comfortable Hostal Altos de la Sierra. There you will enjoy lunch and the opportunity to share with locals.

2. 2Hostal Altos de la Sierra - Hostal Palacio de las Nubes⌄

   The second day awaits you with a dream sunrise, perfect for capturing the best selfie in front of the imposing glaciers. Good coffee and a delicious breakfast will give you the energy to start the descent through a mountain of South Andean forest, with lush vegetation and an unrivalled wealth of birds, including quetzal, which is very common in the area. You will walk a steep thick jungle trail until you find the majestic Aluna Waterfall, where you can enjoy its imposing veil of water. Then, continue on an ascent of about a kilometer until you reach the Palace of Clouds. There, Lenin, your host, will welcome you with a delicious lunch and a comfortable room to rest. The afternoon will be dedicated to sharing with Lenin’s family and sharing knowledge, while enjoying the warmth of the campfire in the late afternoon. Dinner will be served in a cozy dining room before you go to rest.

3. 3Hostel Palace of the Clouds - Santa Marta⌄

   The last day begins with delicious coffee and toast, not before taking a selfie with Lenin’s family and pets in front of the glaciers and the beautiful garden surrounding the Cloud Palace. You will start the ascent through a meadow of horseshoe trails with an infinite view towards the great canyon of Guachaca. You can appreciate waterfalls, mountains and birdsong until you reach the top, at 2,200 meters high. Hopefully and if the cloud cover allows, you can catch a glimpse of Tayrona Park and its beaches. Then, you will arrive at La Lujana Farm to meet Yesid and Milena, your hosts, who will welcome you with a delicious breakfast. You will continue downhill until you reach the Veil of the Bride Waterfall to refresh your spirit. Finally, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at Farm Korea. The journey ends with a three-kilometer trekking on an undulating crossing, and enduro motorcycle to Santa Marta to return to your hotel in the "Pearl of America".
