Archaeological zone and colonial city 5 day/4 night Road trip.

We start from Mexico city.

Day 1. First lay over at Puebla after visiting Cacaxtla and Cholula archaeological zones.

Day 2. Veracruz layover after visiting Cantona and San Juan de Ulua fortess if time.

Day 3. Villahermosa lay over after La Venta and Yamka ecological reserve inside city section.

Day 4. Palenque Chiapas both Lay over as well as archaeological zone.

Day 5. Flight back to México city or Cancún recommended or drive back to the city which can take two days in total.

Site Admission costs are not included in overall trip cost. Nor are parking lost costs nor any meals other than the tour guide-driver.

Day by day itinerary

  1. 1Cacaxtla - Cholula - Puebla⌄

    maya style mural painting depicting every day life scenes such as farming, war, human, sacrifice and calendarical elements amongst others.

    Walk up the most voluminous pyramid in the world takes around 25 minutes. Excavated site next to it features squares with stylistic details, a "Pulque Drinkers" mural reproduction, and altars.

    Lunch and lay over

    Meals: Lunch: Usually until reaching Puebla city. although Cholula is also possible. Not included in overall trip cost.

    Overnight: NH hotel Puebla center is merely one possible recommendation. Not included in overall trip cost

  2. 2Cantona - Veracruz - San Juan de Úlua.⌄

    Defensive architectural site. Meaning this site is laid uphill for militaristic purposes. In other words this is a mild hike up squares, pyramidal basements, walls, ball games and avenues with a great view to the volcanic landscape

    Defensive colonial fortress built to with stand piracy. Visit its several surviving " Baluartes (defensive towers" , armory, weapons and military technology in a colonial museographic display.

    Meals: Lunch: At Veracruz city since Cantonca site is isolated. Not inluded in overall trip cost.

    Overnight: Fuiesta inn Veracruz Malecón. Not included in overall trip cost.

  3. 3La Venta - Villahermosa Tabasco⌄

    Olmec archaelogical zone featuring pyramidal platforms, tablet stones, Olmec scultural Heads, Olmec art in general in a setting nature seems almost ready to recover. Be ready with mosquitoe repelent .

    Ecological reserve section based within the Villahermosa city. basically this is a local zoo wherein we will interact wityh some species that move around freely within and without it next to endangered ones such as black pumas .

    Lay over .

    Meals: Lunch: Either at the Villahermosa city meaning late or at La Venta town in a very traditional and local setting.

    Overnight: Tabasco inn hotel. Not included in overall trip cost.

  4. 4Palenque Palenque Chiapas.⌄

    One of the most celebrated ancient cities in the world. Visit the Tomb of the read Queen as well as the Pakal Sarcophagus , astronomically oriented squares such as "La Cruz Foliada" , Acropolis , and Tables stones .

    Meals: Lunch: plenty of ambienced local sites in city center. Not included in overall trip cost.

    Overnight: Nututun hotel. fantastic setting, pool, etc. Not included in overall trip cost.

  5. 5Either flight back to Mexico city or drive back. Driva back can take up to two days.⌄

    Flight back recommended since drive can take up to 20 hours and need be covered in two days while costs while thus hardly vary much.
