Day by day itinerary

1. 1Arrival and Idleness⌄

   Reception at Djerba airport and Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation at Touring Hotel or similar (Old Caravanserai)

   Meals: Breakfast: The first day in Djerba is in accommodation and breakfast

   Overnight: A night at the Touring Hotel LPD: hotel that served as a caravanserai and shows Djerbian architecture

2. 2Discovery of ksours⌄

   Crossing the famous Roman road: We leave the island to the mainland we will take the Roman road

   A photo break will be on the program at the salt lake of Chahbania

   After the free time you will spend at the Tataouine market, we will go to the famous Ksar Ouled Soltane (shooting location of some Star Wars scenes). A Ksar that dominates a valley and offers an exceptional view

   Walking tour of the Berber village of Chenini with a local guide who will be happy to tell you the story of his village and Berbers in southern Tunisia and to show you all the components of Chenini: oil mill - mosque - Ksar - Grenier. .etc

   Departure to the Berber village of Douiret where you will spend the night in a house (rooms dug into the walls of the mountain). The journey between Chenini can be done in 4 * 4 and hiking (about 4 hours) for fans of nature

   Overnight: Gîte de Douiret (in the heart of the Berber village)

3. 3The night under tent⌄

   Visit the Berber village of Guermessa: a ghost village (more inhabitants) but always with all the components (houses - mosque ... etc)

   At the oasis of Ksar Ghilane this is what you do: - Bathing in a hot spring - Camel ride in the dunes (optional and paid on site) - Quad bike ride in the dunes (optional and paid on site) - Walk in the sand dunes and in the oasis where the ocher color of the sand embraces the greenery of the palm trees

   Attend one of the most beautiful sunset! (see the pictures)

4. 4Discover the Jerid⌄

   Free time to walk around the market in Douz (desert gate)

   A stop at the famous salt lake of Chott Djerid celebrated for the phenomenon of mirages. It is the largest salt lake in North Africa with more than 5000Km squares

   Free time to discover the old town of Tozeur built in briquette and learn more about this city, its history and its unique architecture

   Visit the Dar Chraiet museum which will introduce you more to the city of Tozeur and its history

   Overnight: Night in a 4 * hotel

5. 5Escapade in the mountain oases⌄

   Visit the Berber village of Chebika located about forty kilometers from your hotel: Hike about 1 hour with a local guide who will tell you about the old village, the floods of 1969 and who will accompany you to see the source of water springs from the side of the mountain and serves both for swimming (in summer) and for irrigation of the palm grove

   Visit of the big Tamerza waterfall

   Visit of the palm grove of Mides and its big canyons

   Crossing Chott El Gharsa in a 100% adventure and 100% adrenaline and cross the old Dakar Rally track

   Photo stop at the famous Ong Jmal spot

   Visit the village of Mos Espa where you will find the biggest Star Wars decorations in Tunisia and where you will see a beautiful sunset at the top of a big dune

   Where more than 150 sources of water flow to irrigate the palm groves of Nefta, stop and discover this famous trash

6. 6In the house underground⌄

   Stop and visit one of the most beautiful petrified sand sites

   Technical stop (toilets) and free time to enjoy the panoramic view and enjoy a good tea with fines

   Visit a troglodyte house at the inhabitant where we will be greeted with a good rosemary tea, olive oil and honey served by your host with homemade bread

   Visit the troglodyte hotel Sidi Idriss (shooting location of some scenes of Star Wars) and free time to see the sets and the room dedicated to the film

   Visit the ancient Berber village of Toujane: one of the most beautiful Berber villages hidden shyly between two mountains ...

7. 7Back to Djerba⌄

   We will return to Djerba via the ferry (Ferry which carries about twenty cars to make the shuttle between the continent and the island)

   Visit the village of Poterie Guellala: Visit of the museum of arts and traditions Visit of a workshop where you will attend a demonstration of manufacture of clay products

   Visit of the artistic hub of Djerba Hood

   Free time in Houmt Souk to walk in its narrow streets and its market and possibility to do some shopping before departure
