  2. 2CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS-MOULAY IDRISS- FES⌄

    You say goodbye to Chefchaouen and head south to Volubilis, the most important and extensive remains of a Roman city in Morocco, You move on to Moulay Idriss, which, from a distance, looks like a sitting camel. The oldest town in Morocco was founded by Moulay Idriss I in 789, and the town has the only round minaret in Morocco.

    You end up arriving in one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, Fez, where you can relax and enjoy your night in a lovely Riad preparing for tomorrow’s exciting tour around the medieval city.

    After breakfast, you will explore the city tour of Marrakech with a knowledgeable tour guide. The tour starts from the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque the landmark of Marrakech which has inspired other buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and the Hassan Tower of Rabat. Your next stop is the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs.

    The Saadian tombs in Marrakech date back to the time of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur. The tombs were discovered in 1917 and were restored by the Beaux-arts service. The mausoleum comprises the interments of about sixty members of the Saadian Dynasty that originated from the valley of the Draa River.
