   Day 1 starts with a scenic drive through rural Gambia, as you head toward the majestic Stone Circles—a UNESCO World Heritage site offering a glimpse into the region’s ancient past. From there, continue to Georgetown Island, a place rich in historical significance and natural beauty. Here, you’ll explore remnants of the past with visits to the underground slave house, the Freedom Tree, and the old wooden house that tell stories of resilience and heritage. A tour of the slave warehouse sheds further light on Gambia’s role in the transatlantic slave trade. Later, embark on an unforgettable boat trip to Baboon Island, part of the River Gambia National Park, where you may encounter chimpanzees, hippos, crocodiles, baboons, monkeys, and a variety of bird species in their natural habitats. In the evening, settle into a cozy local camp on Georgetown Island for a night surrounded by nature, with all meals provided for your comfort.
