Day by day itinerary

1. 1Depart Durban at 7am and head off to Tala Private Game Reserve⌄

   Tala Game Reserve spans some 3,000 hectares, encompassing a mix of acacia thornveld, open grassland and a sensitive wetland, which attracts more than 380 bird species, and plenty of big game, including rhinoceros, kudu, hippo, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, eland and many more. Being Malaria-free, with no large predators makes Tala a top-notch choice for families, and holidaymakers seeking a no-frills authentic bush break with the freedom to explore on your terms.

   The Natal Lion Park is a very popular destination as visitors get to see elephants and lions.

   From Natal Lion Park proceed to Howick Falls. Howick Falls is a waterfall in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal Province. The waterfall is approximately 95 m in height and lies on the Umgeni River.

   From Howick Falls, proceed to the Nelson Mandela Capture Site. Nelson Mandela was arrested on 5 August 1962 outside Howick, Natal, South Africa. He spent the next 27 years of his life in prison. The Nelson Mandela Capture Site commemorates this moment in history with a museum and a world renowned sculpture. The museum is very rich with the struggle history of South Africa.

   We round off day 1 by travelling from the Nelson Mandela Capture Site to Underberg where overnight accommodation will be offered at one of the lodges.

2. 2After breakfast commence the Sani Pass Tour into Lesotho from Underberg on a 4 x 4 vehicle⌄

   On day 2, the Sani Pass Tour commences from Underberg after breakfast. • Visit Sani Pass and Lesotho on a 4x4 excursion • Enjoy stunning mountain scenery • Visit a traditional Sotho village and interact with local Sotho people and learn about their culture • Dine and drink in Africa's highest pub The Sani Pass Tour goes up a gravel winding pass that is higher and steeper and much tougher than any of its Southern African competitors. This Pass offers the most exceptional views in the country. As the altitude increases, the road becomes narrower and more treacherous. All signs of human habitation disappear as you come face to face with the vast, desolate beauty of the Drakensberg Mountains.
