Day by day itinerary
1Puerto Maldonado – Philadelphia Community – Nocturnal Exploration⌄
DAY 1 – PUERTO MALDONADO – PHILADELPHIA – NIGHT EXPLORATION Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, our team will welcome you at the airport or bus station and take you to our office for registration. At approximately 9:30 a.m., we will travel by vehicle to the Philadelphia Community, followed by a 20-minute boat ride along the Tambopata River to our ecolodge. After settling into your room and enjoying a typical Amazonian lunch, we will begin a guided jungle walk. Explore the rainforest, discover impressive trees that are more than 600 years old. Our naturalist guide will share fascinating information about the wildlife and take you to a birdwatching tower, where you may spot hoatzins, toucans, and other exotic birds. We will also enjoy an exciting canopy experience above the forest. 2Tambopata Reserve: CHUNCHO MACAW CLAY LICK & CANOPY ADVENTURE⌄
DAY 2 – CHUNCHO MACAW CLAY LICK & CANOPY ADVENTURE Start early, before traveling by boat along the Tambopata River toward the famous Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick. During the journey, you may spot capybaras, caimans and other wildlife along the riverbanks. At the clay lick, spend approximately two hours observing macaws, parrots, and parakeets gathering to feed on the mineral-rich clay, while enjoying a camp-style breakfast. Afterward, continue exploring the area before returning to Puerto Maldonado by canoe and vehicle. After a short wait, our assistant will accompany you to the port for a 40-minute boat ride along the Madre de Dios River to the lodge. Once settled in your room, enjoy a jungle walk leading to a tree-top observation tower, cross hanging bridges through the forest canopy, and experience an exciting zipline adventure above the rainforest. Later, enjoy a night boat excursion in search of caimans, capybaras and other nocturnal wildlife. Return to the lodge dinner and rest.

3SANDOVAL LAKE & MONKEY ISLAND⌄
DAY 3 – SANDOVAL LAKE & MONKEY ISLAND Start early with a boat ride toward Sandoval Lake, one of the highlights of the Tambopata National Reserve. After a short boat ride, walk approximately 3 km (1.8 miles) through the rainforest, observing monkeys, toucans, butterflies, and other wildlife along the way. At the lake, board a traditional rowing boat to explore its waters and look for black caimans, giant river otters, turtles, herons, wild ducks, and macaws. After lunch, visit Monkey Island. From the river, travel by boat for approximately 20 minutes, then walk into the rainforest in search of monkeys in their natural habitat. We will then return to the lodge. In the evening, enjoy a night jungle walk with a naturalist guide and flashlight. Look for nocturnal wildlife such as sloths, porcupines, opossums, night monkeys, frogs, insects, reptiles, and owls. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

4Optional Hike – End of Services⌄
DAY 4 – LAST MORNING IN THE AMAZON Despierta con los tranquilos sonidos de la selva tropical y disfruta de un tiempo relajante en una hamaca, rodeado por la tranquilidad de la jungla. After breakfast, take a final jungle walk with your guide, discovering native plants, tropical fruits, and the hidden beauty of the Amazon. Then, board the boat for the journey back to Puerto Maldonado, enjoying the scenery along the river. We expect to arrive around 12:00 p.m. Once in Puerto Maldonado, collect your backpack from our office. We will then transfer you to the airport or bus station, depending on your onward journey. We recommend booking a flight departing at approximately 1:30 p.m. or 4:00 p.m., giving you enough time to complete the tour comfortably. Your Amazon adventure ends with unforgettable memories of the rainforest, wildlife, and peaceful moments in the heart of nature.
