Leave the noise of Douz behind and let a camel carry you into the silence of the Sahara, at the slow rhythm travellers have crossed these dunes for centuries. In the late afternoon, set off on a two-hour sunset trek across the sand, arriving at a traditional camp just as the sky turns gold. Watch bread being baked the old way, buried in the hot sand, then share a traditional Saharan dinner around the campfire. As night falls, the city light is gone and only stars remain over the dunes. Sleep in your own private desert tent, and at dawn climb back onto your camel for the two-hour ride to Douz, watching the Sahara wake in the sunrise light.

Leave Douz behind and ride by camel deep into the dunes, guided by an experienced camel driver, as the desert landscape opens up around you.
Reach the traditional nomadic camp, settle in, and rest as the sun sets over the Sahara.
Gather around the campfire and watch bread baked the traditional way, buried in the hot sand.
Share a traditional Saharan dinner, then sleep in your private tent under the stars.
Meals: Dinner: Traditional Berber dinner around the campfire: slow cooked couscous, savory soup, and fresh bread baked in hot sand.
Overnight: Traditional nomadic camp. Sleep in authentic tents among the dunes with mattresses and blankets under a starry sky.

Wake up to watch the sun rise over the dunes before the camp stirs.
Enjoy breakfast before setting off.
Climb back onto your camel for the return ride, watching the Sahara wake up in the morning light.
