    Below the cascading waterfall lies some of Alberta’s oldest exposed rock layers. The unique sedimentary patterns tell a geological story billions of years in the making.

    Waterton Townsite A charming lakeside village where you can stroll at leisure, enjoy local cuisine, or relax under the lakeside trees for a picnic—perfect for soaking in the holiday atmosphere.

    Rich iron‑oxide deposits create the canyon’s distinctive red rock formations. Cool mountain stream water makes it a refreshing stop during the summer heat.
