Day by day itinerary

1. 1New Chitose Airport to Kushiro⌄

   Meet your driver at New Chitose Airport and begin your journey across Hokkaido to Kushiro. Relax in your private vehicle while your driver handles the long-distance journey east. A short rest stop may be arranged along the way if needed.

   If arrival time allows, enjoy a short stop in central Kushiro for a walk, dinner, or photos before checking in. Sightseeing on Day 1 depends on the actual flight arrival time and road conditions.

2. 2Kushiro Wetland – Lake Akan – Lake Mashu – Lake Kussharo⌄

   Enjoy wide views across Kushiro Wetland, one of Japan’s largest marshlands. See the winding Kushiro River, open grasslands, and natural scenery from a panoramic viewpoint before continuing deeper into eastern Hokkaido.

   Look down over the deep blue waters and steep volcanic caldera of Lake Mashu. On clear days, enjoy dramatic views across one of eastern Hokkaido’s most famous lakes. Fog and visibility are natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.

   Stop beside Lake Kussharo and enjoy the broad lakeside scenery. At Sunayu, naturally heated water rises beneath the sand, creating one of the area’s most unusual geothermal landscapes.

   End the day beside Lake Akan with time for a lakeside walk, photos, local shopping, or a relaxing evening around Akanko Onsen before checking in.

3. 3ake Akan – Abashiri – Shiretoko⌄

   Explore historic prison buildings and learn how Abashiri Prison became closely connected with Hokkaido’s early development. The open-air museum preserves former prison buildings and offers a cultural contrast to the natural scenery of the trip.

   Stop at one of Shiretoko’s best-known roadside waterfalls and enjoy a close view of water cascading down the rocky mountainside before continuing toward Utoro.

   Arrive on the western side of the UNESCO-listed Shiretoko Peninsula and enjoy the coastal scenery around Utoro. Take time for photos, refreshments, or a short walk before checking in.

   When seasonal road access and vehicle conditions allow, travel deeper into Shiretoko toward the Kamuiwakka area. Guests who wish to join the stream-climbing activity must reserve separately and meet the activity requirements.

4. 4Shiretoko – Furano⌄

   Walk through one of Shiretoko’s most iconic natural areas and enjoy views of lakes, forests, mountains, and wildlife habitat. The available walking route depends on the season, weather, trail conditions, and wildlife activity.

   After your chosen Shiretoko activity, continue west to Furano. This is a long-distance travel day, so the priority is to reach Furano comfortably and safely. Enjoy the evening at your own pace after hotel check-in.

5. 5Furano – Sapporo⌄

   Walk through one of Furano’s most famous flower farms and enjoy seasonal fields, rural scenery, local products, and photo opportunities. Flower varieties and blooming conditions vary naturally by season and cannot be guaranteed.

   Enjoy broad views across colorful flower fields and the rolling countryside of Biei. The appearance of the fields changes throughout the year, so scenery depends on the season and weather.

   Take a short walk to Biei’s distinctive Blue Pond, known for its unusual water color and surrounding forest scenery. Water color and reflections vary with light and weather conditions.

   View the clear streams of Shirahige Falls flowing from the volcanic rock into the blue river below before beginning the drive to Sapporo.

6. 6Sapporo – New Chitose Airport⌄

   Meet your driver at your Sapporo hotel and travel directly to New Chitose Airport according to your confirmed departure flight. Please provide your flight number and preferred pickup time in advance.Arrive at New Chitose Airport with your luggage and continue independently to check-in, shopping, dining, or other airport facilities.
