Day by day itinerary

  1. 1DAY 0 — WELCOME DAY⌄

    Settle in for the scenic 7-hour ride up north, with a pit stop along the way to stretch, snack, or panic-buy anything you forgot. Arrive at your stunning homestay in the mountains around 4PM. You’ll roll into Ha Giang with plenty of time to meet the crew and grab a cold beer by the pool. A comfy bed awaits to ensure you’re fully rested for the epic loop ahead.

  2. 2DAY 1: RISE AND EXPLORE⌄

    Start the day right with breakfast, coffee, and big adventure energy. We hit the road at 9AM (ish) towards Pac Sum Pass for the first killer viewpoint. Next up: Quan Ba Heaven Gate (yep, it lives up to the name), lunch in Tam Son town, and a scenic ride across the Dong Ha suspension bridge and Thai An route. Coffee stop in Lung Ho? Yes please. Then it’s off to Du Gia Valley, with a short trek to the hidden Khau Làn waterfall to wash off the dust from the road. Wrap up with a local family dinner and a few shots of happy water (hydration, but make it spicy). Finish the night at the underground bar and dance off Day 1 with your new Ha Giang family.

  3. 3DAY 2: DEEP DIVE INTO CULTURE AND NATURE⌄

    We’re taking the scenic backroads through Red Dao and Nung villages, heading to Ban An stream for a secret bamboo raft ride. After that, it’s time to level up: we hit Ma Pi Leng Pass (yep, the iconic one), climb for panoramic views, and brave the Skywalk if you’ve got the guts. Get ready for the famous Instagram shot at the Death Ledge. We’ll spend the night nearby, because this kind of beauty deserves more than a drive-by. Spend the night in the town that resembles a Christmas market and polish it off with a cheeky late night Chinese beer.

  4. 4DAY 3: UNCOVER HIDDEN GEMS⌄

    After breakfast, we ride southwest through lush valleys and charming countryside landscapes: the perfect blend of adventure and culture. The road takes us past dramatic rocky outcrops (yes, actual tectonic drama) and the epic cliffs of Tham Ma Pass, where the photo ops are next-level. Lunch is in Yen Minh at one of Ha Giang’s oldest restaurants, where you’ll enjoy real-deal local food. From there, it’s more mountain passes, ancient villages, and hillsides blanketed in hemp (the textile kind). We’ll aim to be back in Ha Giang by 4PM for your return bus to Hanoi. Expect to roll into the city around 11PM.

    Overnight: Arrive back in Hanoi around 23:00 and settle into a free dorm night at our Mad Monkey Hanoi hostel with the crew.
