After traveling by minibus through the Scottish Highlands to the northwest seaside town of Ullapool, take a ferry to the Isle of Lewis – your Hebridean base for three days. Explore the island’s capital, Stornoway, and visit fascinating sites like the Butt of Lewis Lighthouse and the Carloway Broch Iron Age structure.

Day by day itinerary

  1. 1The Road the the Isles⌄

    Our first stop of the day as we arrive in Ullapool in time for the ferry to Stornoway

    Learn more about the traditional Hebridean way of life, with a visit to a traditional croft

  2. 2Exploring the islands⌄

    Reputedly the windest place in the UK at this remote lighthouse.

    Marvel at these wonderful standing stone, possibly older than Stonehenge

    The Broch is exceptionally well preserved and a wonderful example of an Iron Age structure.

    There will be an opportunity to watch a traditional Harris weaver at work.

  3. 3Back to the mainland⌄

    Back on to the ferry for the return trip to Inverness.

    We arrive back in Inverness approx 7pm
