Day by day itinerary

  1. 1Agadir to the Big Dunes⌄

We stop in Taliouine, known as the "Capital of Saffron." You will visit a local cooperative to learn how the expensive "Red Gold" spice is harvested and enjoy a glass of saffron tea.

Famous for its handmade Berber carpets. We stop here for a traditional Moroccan lunch and to see the intricate designs woven by local women.

The adventure begins! We leave the paved roads and drive off-road (piste) across the dried-up salt lake of Iriqui. It’s a thrilling 4x4 experience with stunning flat landscapes before the dunes appear.

Arrival at the massive Erg Chegaga dunes (300m high). You will switch from the 4x4 to camels for a sunset trek into the dunes. The day ends at a luxury desert camp with dinner under the stars and live Berber music.

Meals: Lunch: Enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch (Tajine or Grilled Meat) in the carpet village of Taznakht. · Dinner: A warm, authentic dinner served at the desert camp (Soup, Tajine, and seasonal fruit).

Overnight: Overnight stay in a private luxury tent with comfortable bedding and bathroom facilities, located right in the dunes.

  2. 2Deep South & Palm Groves⌄

Visit this historic village known for its unique green pottery workshops (you can see how they make it) and the ancient Zaouia Naciria Library, home to manuscripts from the 11th century.

We drive through the longest river valley in Morocco. It is a lush green belt of millions of palm trees contrasting with the dry mountains. We will make several stops for panoramic photos.

Located in the center of Ouarzazate, this is a magnificent example of clay architecture. You can explore the exterior and take photos, or enter to see the maze of rooms (entry fee is small, usually paid on spot).

Meals: Breakfast: Fresh Berber breakfast at the camp (Bread, Jam, Oil, Tea, Coffee, Eggs) before leaving the dunes. · Lunch: Lunch break in Zagora or Agdz with a view of the palm groves. · Dinner: Dinner served at your hotel/riad in Ouarzazate.

Overnight: A comfortable night in a traditional Moroccan Riad or Hotel in Ouarzazate (Private room with AC/Heating).

  3. 3Hollywood of Africa & UNESCO⌄

(Optional Stop) Known as the "Hollywood of Africa." If you wish, you can enter to see the sets of movies like The Mummy, Kingdom of Heaven, and Asterix & Obelix.

The highlight of the day. A guided walking tour of this UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a striking fortified village (Ksar) made of clay, famous for being the backdrop of Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

On the return drive to Agadir, we cross the Anti-Atlas mountains via the Tizi n'Tinififft pass, offering dramatic lunar landscapes and canyon views.

Meals: Lunch: Lunch at a local restaurant near Ait Ben Haddou or on the scenic road back to Agadir. · Breakfast: Breakfast at your hotel in Ouarzazate.
