Day by day itinerary

  1. 1DAY 1 – TRANSIT AND SMOOTH IMMERSION⌄

    Staff will meet you at the agreed meeting point in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. After a brief welcome and introduction to the expedition, we will start the transfer to San José de Chiquitos.

    Upon arrival, the guide will accompany you on an interpretative tour of the missionary ensemble of San José de Chiquitos, declared Cultural Heritage.

    En route to the protected area, we will make a short stop in Santa Cruz la Vieja, where the guide will explain the process of founding and historical transfer of the city.

    Enter the Kaa Iya Integrated Management Natural Area of Gran Chaco. The team will assist you in allocating spaces in the authorized camp. Time is provided for accommodation and light rest.

    Ceremony of the challa symbolic of respect for the territory A short symbolic ceremony will be held to welcome and respect the territory, explaining the cultural and environmental significance of the gesture.

    Sunset wildlife watching with the specialized staff will accompany you on a controlled tour by vehicle and strategic observation points. During the activity: Traces and indirect signs of fauna will be searched The behaviour of key species will be explained Observations will be recorded in log No direct sighting is guaranteed, as the experience respects the natural dynamics of the ecosystem.

    Meals: Lunch · Dinner: Banquet type

    Overnight: Authorized camping area with expedition type tents, basic bathrooms and common areas in protected natural environment.

  2. 2DAY 2 – SCIENTIFIC HEART⌄

    Early morning departure to the Isozog compartment Transfer with strategic stops for: Identification of fingerprints Interpretation of traces Registration in field log Ethological explanation of jaguar and associated species Light refreshment is offered during the journey

    Sector Cueva del Jaguar Habitat observation activity. The guide will explain: Territory and behaviour of the jaguar Ecological role as a parasol species Importance of the biological corridor No direct sighting is promised.

    Educational campfire with park ranger Interpretive talk on: Gran Chaco ecosystem Environmental threats Community conservation Fieldwork in the protected area Participatory question space

    Guided walk along enabled paths. The following shall be observed: Night sounds Insects and minor fauna Ecological dynamics at night Supervised activity under security protocols.

    Meals: Breakfast: Type Snack · Lunch · Dinner

    Overnight: Authorized camping area with expedition type tents, basic bathrooms and common areas in protected natural environment

  3. 3DAY 3 – SOFT CLOSURE AND CONTEMPLATION⌄

    San Lucia lagoon and natural pools Time of contemplation, landscape observation and photography. The guide will explain: Ecosystem formation Water importance in the Chaco Flora and fauna adaptations

    Closing ceremony of the expedition.

    Departure from ANMI Kaa Iya. Rest stop at : Valley of the Moon or Viewpoint Ñuflo de Chávez. Continued return journey.
