Day by day itinerary
1Hermits Rest to Monument Creek or Hermit Creek⌄
• Meet at the Grand Canyon Backcountry Information Center for orientation and gear check • Shuttle to Hermits Rest Trailhead • Descend the historic Hermit Trail through dramatic canyon scenery • Explore ancient rock layers, desert landscapes, and panoramic viewpoints • Arrive at camp at either Monument Creek or Hermit Creek

Overnight: Camping under the stars.
2Explore Hermit Rapids or Granite Rapids⌄
• Continue deeper into the canyon toward the Colorado River • Explore remote sections of the Tonto Platform • Visit Hermit Rapids or Granite Rapids depending on permits and route conditions • Enjoy opportunities to relax near the river and explore side canyons

Overnight: Camping under the stars
3Return to Monument Creek or Hermit Creek⌄
• Begin the journey away from the Colorado River • Climb through scenic canyon terrain and expansive desert vistas • Learn about Grand Canyon geology, ecology, and history from your guide • Return to either Monument Creek or Hermit Creek for the evening

4Ascent to the Rim⌄
• Break camp and begin the final ascent toward Hermits Rest • Hike through towering canyon walls and sweeping viewpoints • Reach the South Rim and celebrate the completion of the adventure • Shuttle and transportation coordination back to Flagstaff
