Day by day itinerary

1. 1Take an overnight train from Xi'an to Beijing⌄

   Your friendly driver will pick you up at 6:45.p.m from your Xi'an hotel and drive about 20 minutes to Xi'an Railway Station to catch your overnight train to Beijing. Your driver will assist with obtain the pre-purchased train tickets for you and take you to the waiting room.

   Overnight: Overnight on the train in a deluxe soft sleeper room (2 passengers in one train cabin with private restroom)

2. 2Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City, Hutong and Temple of Heaven (L)⌄

   Upon arrival, your local guide and driver will pick you up at Beijing West Railway Station, then head to Tiananmen Square, located in the centre of Beijing. It encompassed 108.7 acres,880 meters from north to south and 500 meters from east to west, big enough to hold a half million people.

   Followed by a visit to the Forbidden City, which is the best preserved imperial palace in China and the largest palace with 9,999.5 rooms. The splendid architecture of the Forbidden City represents the essence and culmination of traditional Chinese architectural accomplishment.

   After enjoy a tasty local lunch, continue to explore the Hutongs around Back Lakes, the Beijing old neighborhood. You can either do it by walking or taking a rickshaw(an option for you). Experience the life of the locals there. Finish the day with return transfer to your Beijing downtown hotel (at your own arrangement).

3. 3Mutianyu Great Wall, photo stop at the Olympic Stadium (L)⌄

   Meet your guide and driver at your hotel lobby in the morning, and drive about 1.5 hours to the Mutianyu Great Wall, the best welcomed by travelers for its picturesque scenery, fewer tourist, and beautifully-restored architecture. You can either choose taking a cable car up and cable car down or chair lift up to the Wall and toboggan down. Spend 2-3 hours hiking on the Wall.

   After a local dumpling lunch, continue to the Olympic Park and make a photo stop at the Beijing Olympic Stadium, where you can see the Bird Nest and Water Cube. Finish the day with return transfer to your hotel (at your own arrangement).

4. 4Temple of Heaven, Lama Temple and Summer Palace (L)⌄

   After morning pickup at your hotel, head to the 15th-century Temple of Heaven, the largest religious building in China. It was originally used by the Ming and Qing emperors to pay homage to heaven and to pray for a year of rich harvest, and locals now come to the temple to practice Tai Chi, sing, and dance.

   Followed by a visit to the Lama Temple, the most celebrated Buddhist temple in Beijing. It is one of the largest and most influential one in China, and was the only temple to have been said to have survived in the Cultural Revolution, and reopened to the public in 1981.

   After a local lunch, head to the Summer Palace in the afternoon. It was once a summer retreat for emperors. This 716-acre park is still a retreat for the crowd-weary tourist, who can relax here or stroll around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and huge lake After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel (at your own arrangement).
