Discover the south of Quintana Roo, Mexico on a 4-day birdwatching adventure starting at the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve and ending at the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve near the Belize border. These natural protected areas cover over 2 million hectares and are home to a diverse range of bird species.

Spot magnificent birds such as toucans, parrots, trogons, motmots, and hummingbirds, while also looking out for raptors including hawks, eagles, and falcons soaring above the canopy.

Day by day itinerary

  1. 1Birdwatching at Sian Kan Natural Biosphere⌄

    5:00 AM Pickup at Cancun hotel or AirBnB location, to start the van transfer to Sian Ka án Natural Biosphere.

    7:00 AM We start the birdwatching tour.

    12:00 PM Transfer to Bacalar.

    3:00 PM Check-in at 3 star hotel, free time to visit Bacalar downtown and lagoon, and rest for next day birding adventure!

    Meals: Breakfast: Express breakfast, coffee, fruits, bread & bottle of water.

    Overnight: Overnight 3 star hotel at Bacalar.

  2. 2Birdwatching at 3 Garantias limits of Belize.⌄

    5:00 AM Transfer to 3 Garantias.

    7:00 AM Start the birdwatching tour near Belize border.

    12:00 PM Transfer to Chicaná town near Calakmul archaeological site.

    1:00 PM Check-in at 3 star hotel, free time to visit the downtown and rest for next day birding adventure!

    Meals: Breakfast: Express breakfast, coffee, fruits, bread & bottle of water.

    Overnight: Overnight Chicaná 3 star hotel.

  3. 3Birding at Calakmul Archaeological site⌄

    5:30 AM transfer to Calakmul archaeological site.

    5:45 AM start the birdwatching tour in the archaeological site of Calakmul.

    12:00 PM Transfer to Tulum.

    6:00 PM Check-in at 3 star hotel, free time to visit Tulum downtown and rest for next day birding adventure!

    Meals: Breakfast: Express breakfast, coffee, fruits, bread & bottle of water.

    Overnight: Overnight at 3 star hotel in Tulum

  4. 4Birding at Playa del Carmen⌄

    5:00 AM transfer to Puerto Morelos.

    7:00 AM we start the bird watching tour at Ruta de los cenotes near Puerto Morelos.

    12:00 PM Trasnfer to Cancun Hotel.

    1:00 PM Drop off at hotel or AirBnB location, tour ends.
