We plan the hike so you can fully enjoy Rupac’s highlights: a quiet sunset, a night under the stars, and a sunrise above a sea of clouds-without rushing or crowds.

With logistics, equipment, and donkey support taken care of, you can focus on the experience itself.

Day by day itinerary

  1. 1Lima to Rupac – Scenic Trek and Sunset Experience⌄

    08:00 AM - Hotel pickup in Lima Private pickup from your accommodation in Miraflores, Barranco, or San Isidro.

    12:00 PM – Arrival in Pampas Enjoy a light lunch and a short briefing before starting the hike.

    01:00 PM - Start of the trek Begin a steady uphill hike through Andean landscapes. The trail covers approximately 6.5 km with a 500 m elevation gain, with breaks along the way.

    04:00 PM – Arrival at Rupac (3,550 m or 11,650 ft) Set up camp near the archaeological site and take time to rest.

    Sunset experience Enjoy a guided sunset overlooking the mountains-one of the highlights of the trip. Evening – Dinner & stargazing Warm dinner at camp followed by a relaxed stargazing experience.

    Overnight: Camping at Rupac (mountain campsite) Tents, inflatable sleeping pad, and sleeping bags are provided.

  2. 2Sunrise Above the Clouds – Descent and Return to Lima⌄

    Early morning - Sunrise experience Wake up early to witness the sunrise above a sea of clouds-weather permitting. Light Breakfast at camp

    06:45 – 07:00 AM – Start descent Begin the hike back down at a comfortable pace.

    09:30 – 10:00 AM – Arrival in Pampas, rest and get a light brunch with hot or cold drink.

    Transfer to Huaral and Lima Stop for snacks or optional lunch (not included). Return to Lima Arrival in Lima approximately between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, depending on traffic.
