Salt Lick Safari Lodge has been one of Kenya’s famous lodges, its one of the World’s Most Photographed Lodges. It is favourable for travelers in search of luxury accommodation. Salt Lick Safari Lodge is a luxurious safari escape set in the middle of the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary overlooking a waterhole and the vast plains.

The neighbouring Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa has a museum that displays some of the World War 1 and memorable as part of the rich history of Taita Taveta County. You will be able to visit here too

Day by day itinerary

  1. 1Day 1: Mombasa/Diani to Saltlick⌄

    You will be picked up from your beach hotel in the early morning hours and depart by road to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary. You will enjoy an amazing game drive along the way. Upon arrival at Taita Hills Lodge, you will have lunch, relax for a while and then head out for a game drive in the sanctuary searching for lion and other wildlife, until sunset. You will then return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay at Salt Lick Lodge. This lodge is especially memorable for its imaginative structure. A complex of rondavel sit on stilts over a series of water holes. These two-story towers, topped by peaked thatch roofs connected by open-air-bridges, create an African fantasy of a medieval fortress. The lodge has been built with game viewing in mind. The structure provides you will a panoramic view of the sanctuary; offering spectacular views of the landscape and wildlife.

  2. 2Day 2: Salt Lick to Mombasa/ Diani⌄

    Enjoy an early morning breakfast and then depart for a half day game drive. Around noon you will depart for Mombasa, taking part in a game drive and lunch along the way. Upon arrival in Mombasa, you will be dropped off at your beach hotel. This is where your safari will end.
