Overview
The route crosses Abra Málaga at 4,350 m, descending into the cloud forest. The trail begins in Santa Teresa, 5:30 hours from Cusco, and ends in the town of Aguas Calientes.
The experience is not as popular as the Inca Trail, which is overloaded with reservations, but many find it just as beautiful. This hike (sometimes also known as the Inca Jungle) is ideal for travelers looking for alternatives, taking them through rural communities and jungle adventures.
The Inca Jungle Trek, the Great Adventure to Machu Picchu, is perfect for nature lovers because activities such as biking, rafting, zip-lining, and trekking all lead to the final destination of Machu Picchu and the sacred Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu. You will undoubtedly have a fabulous experience.
