Overview

This short 2-day Inca Trail is perfect for those who wish to experience the famous Inca Trail to Machu Picchu but have little time, it allows you to visit the most magnificent ruins such as Chachabamba and Winawayna, and then enter on foot through the Sun Gate as the Incas did and have a guided tour of the famous Machu Picchu.

Day by day itinerary

  1. 1Cusco - Kilometer 104 - Aguas Calientes⌄

Commencing the Inca Trail 2-day hike from Cusco at 4:00 am, our journey includes a picturesque 1.5-hour drive to Ollantaytambo for breakfast and a train ride to kilometer 104, marking the trail's commencement. Covering 15km of the Classic Inca Trail through the Sacred Valley, the trek showcases Inca sites and diverse flora. A highlight is the visit to Winay Wayna, where a mountain-view picnic is enjoyed. Passing through a lush cloud forest, participants may encounter various plants, flowers, and wildlife. Reaching the Sun Gate in the afternoon provides captivating views of Machu Picchu with fewer tourists, offering prime photo opportunities. After the iconic Guard House shot, a bus takes us to Aguas Calientes, allowing free time until dinner, which can include optional activities like a dip in the hot springs, concluding the day with an overnight stay at the hotel.
